On Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair Shoot
Sally Field: “I love Miley Cyrus. My granddaughters are completely and utterly over the moon. I watch Hannah Montana….I think, ‘Let it go for God’s sake’…It’s a beautiful picture.”
Hilary Duff: “It’s a lot of pressure. I don’t know how I would even begin to give her advice because I feel she has a huge career and she’ll learn how to deal with it.”
Lauren Conrad [The Hills]: “I found it a bit silly. I thought she looked beautiful in the pictures. I didn’t find it that inappropriate. I think it’s difficult. It s a lot of pressure on her since she is a role model, but I think she’s doing a good job.”
Tila Tequila [VH1's A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila]: “I think it’s hot. When I was 15, I was doing the same thing except a bared it all….She’s just showing her back. She’s growing up. I don’t think she’s doing anything harmful. If the media keeps pushing her, pressuring her, she might end up messed up. But right now, I think everyone should just let her have fun. She’s not doing anything scandalous. I think she’s hot!”
Rosie O’Donnell on her blog: “I had two photo shoots with her [Annie Leibovitz]. It’s intimidating. Annie Leibovitz. I also didn’t think it was a pornographic photo in any capacity. I thought it was kind of a beautiful portrait, you know. I like the one of her and her dad too. It’s Annie Leibovitz people. Leave Miley alone!”
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis on Huffington Post Blog: “She is a young girl. She shouldn’t have to deal with any of this. I don’t feel that she was duped … there were people at the shoot that should have been looking out to make sure this didn’t happen.
Miley Cyrus on E!: “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.”
Photographer Annie Leibovitz: “I’m sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted. Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together, and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.
“The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little make-up, and I think it is very beautiful.”

I felt that Miley Cyrus should have been carefully watched by her parents. She was too young for this photo even though it was a great picture of her. Billy Ray Cyrus should have told her that she could have it done in a few years instead of allowing her to do it just so that she could get publicity.

What is the big deal. I am a Pro photographer. This shows less than your childs swimsuit or Miley’s swimsuits. She is fully covered. She is not smiling. That makes her look sultry. Also the fact that her hair is tossled. They even tried to make something of her leaning on her dad. The photographer should have had a little better taste. I blame her. She does alot of nudes, etc. She doesn’t have my respect. Miley and her family just trusted a pro photographer. She should have taken into account that no smile with tossled hair would give a sexy look to a 15 year old. Miley couldn’t see how she looked until she seen the picture. Her grandmother was the one there from what I understand, not her mom and day. Reguardless it is their business and she did look beautiful. She is growing up, and she won’t always stay Hanna Montana. Get a life, sweep around your own back door. Most of you will find more dirt there than on poor Miley who tries to be very moral. She is 15, and not perfect. 16 now.
